Backyard Harvest started as a simple question: why does gardening advice assume you have unlimited space, time, and money? Most home gardeners have a backyard or a few containers, a limited budget, and a job. The content most gardening media produces is aimed at estate gardens and hobby farmers. We built Backyard Harvest for everyone else.
We test everything ourselves. Every tool review is the result of actual use over at least one growing season. Every seed recommendation has been grown in our test beds. We make money through affiliate commissions and advertising — we disclose all of it, and it doesn't change what we recommend. We'd rather link to a $15 product that works than a $60 product that earns us more commission.
